Network Management, a profile of Computer Science Software Engineering, offers a programme with sub-specialisation in Network Management. Throughout their studies, students will attend specific modules in subjects including Network Design, Creating and Configuring Networks, Security in Networks, Performance Analysis and Network Management. The focus of the programme will mainly be on writing programmes to analyse and draw conclusions for network evaluation and improvement.

The increase in the level of quality and the amount of information services has raised the importance of networks and their management. These services require fast and secure networks, as well as knowledgeable and skilled personnel.

Network Management, a profile of Computer Science Software Engineering, offers a programme with sub-specialisation in Network Management. Throughout their studies, students will attend specific modules in subjects including Network Design, Creating and Configuring Networks, Security in Networks, Performance Analysis and Network Management. The focus of the programme will mainly be on writing programmes to analyse and draw conclusions for network evaluation and improvement.

Along with the aforementioned modules, in subjects IT Project 1, 2 and 3 students will create industry projects with a focus on networks.

Within IT Project 1 the students group will develop an application selected by the group in consultation and approval of the teacher.

In IT Project 2 students will develop a wider application that includes elements of a web-application.

In IT Project 3 students will implement all aspects of creating technical documentation according to international standards from the perspective of the requester, receiver, developer and supervisor.

Graduates will be able to:

  • understand, evaluate and apply techniques and methods to solve different problems, from managing to developing various information processes
  • recognise, assess and use a series of programming languages to develop and test various information systems
  • recognise, understand and apply algorithms and data structures to enable successful completion of different networks
  • design, implement and maintain communication networks and systems, including LAN, WAN, extranet and intranet networks.
  • test systems before implementation and solve problems during and after implementation
  • work individually and as part of a team.

Some of the skills gained will be to:

  • design user insight–user interface by testing the correctness of use
  • evaluate needs of organisations to split data and communication
  • evaluate market products and services for organisational needs.
