Our profile in programming Mobile and Cloud applications at Riinvest College offers a sub-specialisation of Software Engineering for programming and development of applications for mobile devices on various platforms such as the Windows Phone, Android, iOS, etc. In addition, students will be able to develop applications for adapting existing systems from the web and desktop to the mobile. Furthermore, students will learn about building and developing Cloud systems.

Following the contemporary trends in IT development, a visible expansion in the number and use of mobile devices is clear. These devices have created new realities that are characterised by global and local needs and requirements for application systems. Besides the need for knowledge and skills from Software Engineering—the basis of all Computer Science studies—there exists the need for specialisation in the field of programming for mobile devices and cloud systems. The larger part of the industry is developing or providing their services on mobile devices, resulting in an increased demand for experts in the development and transmission of applications for mobile devices.

Meanwhile, systems based on Cloud concepts are growing every day. Opportunities to create valuable applications that will spare consumers problems with administration, hardware and software maintenance are becoming increasingly attractive.

Our profile in programming Mobile and Cloud applications at Riinvest College offers a sub-specialisation of Software Engineering for programming and development of applications for mobile devices on various platforms such as the Windows Phone, Android, iOS, etc. In addition, students will be able to develop applications for adapting existing systems from the web and desktop to the mobile. Furthermore, students will learn about building and developing Cloud systems.

Students will be able to specialise while following lectures and developing real-life projects for 50% of the modules. Unique subjects of the profile include Operating System for Mobile Devices, Programming Mobile Devices, and Global Cloud Applications. In IT Project 1, 2 and 3, the focus of the projects will be on mobile applications.

Graduates will able to:

  • comprehend, evaluate and apply methods and techniques to solve different problems from managing to development of different information processes
  • understand needs and adapt application code according to new algorithms and data structures to customers’ new needs
  • recognise, understand and apply parts of, or entire, software cycle (requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, implementation and support) to enable the successful execution of various applications
  • solve technical mobile problems
  • code different programmes using different programming languages and techniques
  • design web architecture for mobile devices by testing the accuracy of use
  • develop software for secure interactive systems
  • work individually or as part of a team.

Students will develop skills for:

  • designing user insight–user interface and test the accuracy of use
  • creating logics of application flow
  • developing critical thinking skills
  • evaluating the scale of projects
  • developing applications for mobile devices
  • monitoring software performance.
